Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about hiking, trekking, and sustainable tourism.

What is the difference between hiking and trekking?

Hiking generally refers to day walks on marked trails. Trekking involves longer routes, often multi-day, in more remote and challenging natural environments. Both activities are pillars of sustainable tourism when practiced with respect.

How can I safely prepare for a hike?

Preparation is key. Study the route, check the weather forecast, and communicate your plans. Wear suitable footwear, bring enough water and food, a map, a flashlight, and a first aid kit. Always respect your physical limits.

What are the principles of sustainable tourism in nature?

Sustainable tourism in natural environments is based on minimal impact. It means respecting flora and fauna, staying on trails, taking all waste with you, using low-impact transportation, and supporting the local economies of communities near natural areas.

Why is it important to respect the environment while trekking?

The natural environment is a delicate ecosystem. Trampling vegetation off-trail, disturbing animals, or leaving waste can cause long-term damage. Respect ensures these places remain pristine and accessible for future generations.

Where can I find information on trails and local regulations?

Before leaving, consult the websites of national or regional parks, local hiking associations, or alpine huts. For specific questions, you can contact us via email at info@trekit.org or call 311 771 067.

Our Story

From a Passion to a Project for the Territory

How responsible hiking gave life to a sustainable tourism model.

It all started with a small group of trekking enthusiasts, united by the desire to explore nature in a respectful way. In 2015, we organized the first guided hikes, immediately emphasizing preparation, safety, and environmental education. We wanted to show that hiking could be the engine of sustainable tourism, capable of enhancing the environment without exploiting it.

The journey was not simple. We invested in guide training, mapping low-impact trails, and creating partnerships with local communities. Each step was a move towards a bigger goal: transforming the simple activity of hiking into a conscious experience that leaves a positive mark. Today, our project involves hundreds of people every year, promoting a healthy and respectful relationship with nature.
